Dear friends,

In 2010, YMCAs in Canada changed 2 million lives and strengthened the foundations of over 1,000 communities. This is a tremendous achievement, 160 years in the making.

We're very proud of the impact our YMCA federation has had this year and throughout its long history. And we believe that by working together, YMCAs and YMCA-YWCAs in Canada can achieve even more extraordinary results in the years to come.

Today, we nurture the potential of 1,275,000 children, teens, and young adults nationally. Working together, we can support more young people directly and expand our influence.

Today, we are connecting with major national partners like the CBC to promote healthy living for all Canadians. Working together, we can make the YMCA's shared health expertise an ever more powerful force for improving lives.

Today, we engage over 45,000 donors, 24,000 volunteers, 300 Canadian partners and 27 YMCAs outside Canada. Working together, we can help more people to become connected community members and engaged global citizens.

YMCAs in Canada have the capacity to guide millions of individuals and hundreds of communities toward lasting positive change. As Chair of the YMCA Canada Board and President and CEO of YMCA Canada, we are inspired by the conversations happening within and among local Associations about how to build a stronger, more relevant YMCA federation for the future. We believe that by working together – sharing ideas and tools, and fostering a shared sense of commitment to the work we do – we will deepen our impact in every community we serve.

Please join us in celebrating this year's achievements, and looking forward to more great strides in the year to come.

Sincerely,
