This year, YMCAs across the country have come together to envision The Canada We Want and the YMCA that can help our whole society grow stronger. With this vision in mind, our YMCA federation is collaborating in a number of ways, especially through Plan Y: a strategic plan that will strengthen our federation and deepen the impact of our work.

A snapshot of our progress this year:

• 100% of YMCAs participated in the "Plan Y" strategic planning process.
• 1,000 people – from youth leaders to board members and senior managers – were engaged in local workshops to discuss their vision for the YMCA's future.
• 20 leaders of national organizations shared their ideas about how the YMCA can maximize its impact in the years to come.
• 23 external trends – from obesity to social media to environmental issues – were analyzed, with YMCA leaders considering how they might affect our work or call us to action.
• 115 YMCA facilities embarked on SAM 2.0, a federation-wide quality assurance and training program.
